when I make a call or try to talk to my watch it won’t pick up my voice but I can hear when the watch rings and gets a message

Apple Watch Series 5, watchOS 6
The microphone on the Watch is between the Digital Crown and power button. Make sure it is not blocked by something. Try resetting the Watch. Press and hold the Digital Crown and power button together until you see the Apple Logo and then release. The Watch will reboot. Test.
Otherwise, make a Genius Bar appointment at the nearest Apple Store to have that checked.
