What kind of HDMI adaptor system will I need? Thanks -

I'd be delighted to help you, Jill

Your MacBook Pro with 4 thunderbolt 3 ports supports MiniDisplayPort, HDMI and VGA with the appropriate adapters

for this one, you'd need a USB-C to HDMI cable, one that also supports audio. something like this should do the job:

you will also need an HDMI 2.0 cable of the appropriate length, which is not included. You should be able to choose HDMI for Audio Out on your MacBook Pro. Go to System Preferences, then sound, then Effects, and then Play Through, and HDMI should be listed as one of the choices. You can also go to System Preferences, then Sound, then for Output, choose HDMI.

I don't know how far your Vizio tv is from your MacBook Pro, so can't say what length of HDMI cable you'd need.

around here, HDMI cables are kinda pricey, at least in the retail stores, so I usually go for monoprice....but that's just my opinion.

anyways, hope this helps you out

TVs can be less usable than actual monitors ... the actual size of the pixel requires you back the TV further away to read text. Maybe I am wrong in this case, though. I bought a monitor that has a TV tuner built in (LG M2762D, model is many years old) that has small pixel but processes TV images internally (most pure-monitors struggle as TVs). Just a thought.

Good luck.
