Please help! My sons ipad went dead. When I try to charge it, the apple icon lights up and then freezes. When I plug it in to my computer to connect to iTunes and charging icon comes on, so I can’t connect and do a factory reset. 😭

Thank you for responding. I have read through those and followed the steps. It did not help. I was hoping there was something else I could try without contacting Apple.
What happened when you put your device in DFU mode as instructed above and connected it to your mac via itunes? Was the device recognized at all?
