PIN to unlock locked macbook not working

Recently I lost my macbook so I locked it using Find My Mac on my phone. I now have it back, but the 6-digit pin given to me on my phone to unlock it (underneath "Use this PIN to unlock your Mac") is not working. I’ve put it in multiple times and now my laptop is locked for 60 minutes. I can’t find anyone else having this problem and I’m worried I will disable it for a very long time if I keep trying. Please help!
