Error: Google Earth failed connect to database

I have installed Google earth pro, version "7.3.2.5776.pkg". When opening google earth, two popup appear saying:

I have already tried to uninstall and reinstall the program many times without success. I have also used the "Launch repair tool"> Clean disk cache and Restore default settings. Nothing has worked.

I have also tried restarting the computer and failed to solve it.

Please HELP! i really need Google Earth pro for my work!

I just found the solution by reading a post where it was recommended to go to:

System Preferences -> Network -> Proxies, and UNCHECKED 'SOCKS Proxy'

Now, I don't know if unchecking this could cause a problem on my computer.
