is there any support for PDF documents on an ipad? I would like to fill out a PDF document in my msg, and send back.

Download/save the PDF into the Files app, open the file, select Mark Up, tap + to create text boxes.

Yes,

But you may have to resort to paid PDF apps for full support of any and all types of PDF documents.
