I have same child on my family group on two different phones. How can i remove the one on a iphone not in use.

Try signing in to the child's Apple ID Account on a computer using their Apple ID. If you see the phone not in use, then click on it. Now, you can remove it from your child's signed-in devices.

Thank you again. I got assistance from apple support and started the process for deleting the account.
Frankly I do not understand why it is so complicated for a family sharing group organizer to delete a child account..

It did not work for me as as the phone not inuse was not shown after i signed in with the child apple ID.
