Dead Airpod case and pods...

My airpods, gen 2 and case just quit. I plugged them in last night after they worked perfectly with both my iphone and Macbook Air . This morning: no light in the case and no response from the pods. Completely dead.. Any one else had this experience. They are two months old...

The case and pods were both partially charged last night so even if they didn't charge they should have still been good to go this AM. Lightning port is clean and charger definitely works. Apple said I could drive an hour plus and take a half day off from work to have them serviced. They apparently can't deal with any shipping. Nice warranty service...
