I created my first Apple ID in the early days of the iPhone before ICloud with a yahoo email address - and have purchases thousands of songs, dozens of movies, and dozens of books and apps. I just want to move all of these purchases over to my iCloud email address and shut down that old iCloud account. How can I just move all purchases and close the old account?
You can’t move purchases from one account to another. You can, however, change the email address associated with your original Apple ID.

You can try setting up Family Sharing between the IDs if you want to be able to share purchases made with the IDs.
