Verified credit card to recover my old Apple ID, but just get "Too many verification codes sent"
I want to log into my old Apple ID to download music I purchased on that account, and to update my contact details. When I tried to, after entering the correct password, it said it sent a code to a phone number I no longer used. For alternative recovery, I verified the full phone number and was then given several options, including texting or calling said phone number, using an associated device to receive a code, or requesting Apple verify my account after a wait period. I tried logging in on a few Apple devices to see if I would receive the verification code that I was told I'd receive if I used said device. No code was received. So I went with the final option of having Apple verify my account. It asked me to verify the credit card I had on that account. Fortunately I had it recorded on a text file so I verified the card, but on the next page I just get an error saying "Too Many Verification Codes Sent: You have requested a verification code too many times. Enter the last code received or try again later." I assume this is due to the logging in on multiple Apple devices to attempt account recovery, which had sent a code to my old phone number each time for authentication. So did my request for Apple to verify go through or will I have to wait a period until the "too many verification codes" threshold expires, and if so how long would that take?
