Mac mail - all GMAIL is kept in Inbox and Archive

Hello, I don't know if this is a Gmail problem or a Mac OS mail client. My primary email address is a gmail address, but I use the Mac mail client exclusively to view my email. For some reason, all my incoming messages are being kept in my inbox and my Archive folder. Also, all my sent messages are being loaded in my Archive. The results is I'm almost out of space on the Gmail servers. Any body else have this problem? See the screen capture. Thanks for any assistance.

That's what Gmail does.


Mail maps Gmail's All Mail label to the Archive folder.


Gmail doesn't use folders, but Labels. A message can have many labels assigned to it. When a message arrives, it gets marked with both the Inbox label and the All Mail label. Therefore, Mail shows it in both the Inbox and the Archive (All Mail) folder.


Your lack of space has nothing to do with Mail.
