How to change name of disk in the Options window?

I have a MacBook Pro 2013 that I recently inherited. I reformatted the HD and did a clean-install of Catalina which went fine. I then used Bootcamp to create a bootable Windows 10 Pro partition which went fine as well. When I hold down the "Option" key at boot-up to switch between the two partitions, I see two options - "Windows" and "Untitled" which are my Windows and Catalina partitions respectively. I remembered that when I reformatted the HD, Disk Utility named the partition "Untitled" by default. I went back to Disk Utility and renamed the partition "Macintosh HD". However, this has not affected what I see in the Options window - I still see "Untitled" as my choice instead of "Macintosh HD". How can I change the name of the disk in the Options window from "Untitled" to "Macintosh HD"?

Thanks!

Boot into Safe Mode in your primary user account (Use Safe Mode to isolate issues with your Mac and Playing Safe: what does Safe Mode Do?) and check there to see if the problem persists. (This tells us if there's any 3rd party software that might be contributing to the problem). Then reboot normally and test again.

NOTE: Safe Mode boot can take up to 10 minutes as it's doing some system cache cleaning, volume verifying and directory repairing.

Hi - I thought I would try this one more time, providing some additional information. As I said above, when I boot the laptop and press the Option key, my two choices are "Windows" and "Untitled". When I boot to the macOS and look at the partition names I see "Bootcamp" and "Macintosh HD". Given this, I am not sure why I see "Windows" and "Untitled" as the names when I press the Option key at startup. If the Option function is not getting the names from the partition names, from where does it get them? How can I change "Untitled" to "Macintosh"?

Hi OT - Yes, that is how I changed the partition name from "Untitled" to "Macintosh HD" when I realized I had not done that when I clean-installed the OS. However, the name of the partition still shows up as "Untitled" when I hold down the Option key at startup.

And how is this an issue really? Does this drastically cripple your work flow?

Plug in some other bootable sources— like a boot clone and a Time Machine backup— and compare how the are recognized and named by the Startup Disk Manager, compared to your MIA "Macintosh HD"—this may be telling.
