Image insertion

Hi,

When I click the "Image insertion" icon at the bottom toolbar on Mac, files are dimmed and I can't insert the image to Apple Community.

Could you tell me what the problem is?

I suspect .HEIC is not an image file format supported by the ASC software.

Most images here are screen shots, whose format is .png

To take a screen shot of part of the screen, follow these steps:

  • Place the mouse pointer at one corner (I usually use top left) of the area you want to include.
  • Click and hold, then drag the pointer to the opposite corner of the area you want to include.
  • Release the mouse button.

You'll hear a cameral shutter sound, and the file containing your screen shot will be saved to your desktop with the name "Screen shot" followed by the date and time the shot was captured.

To post the screen shot:

  • Place the insertion point where you want the image to be set.
  • Click the 'mountain scene' icon near the right end of the set of icons on the bottom frame of the compose box.
  • (if necessary) Navigate to your Desktop.
  • Locate the image file and double click it.

The software will close the Image capture window and place the image at the specified location, scaling it to fit the width of the message space. You can click on the image to select it and adjust the size using the handles that appear at each corner of the image.

Regards,

Barry
