iPhone back up failed
I’ve had this phone for a couple of months. I constantly get “iPhone back up failed, not enough storage on iCloud”. I go to iCloud.com and verify that I have 5gb available. Why isn’t it backing up?

The size of your backup could exceed the the storage space that you have in iCloud. It’s certainly not unheard of especially if you have lots and lots of photos or videos and if you include photos in the backup. What is the capacity of your phone and what is the actual storage taken up in the phone.
Check in Settings>General>About>Capacity for the storage size of the device and Settings>General>iPhone Storage. That will show how much space you have used on the phone and the chart at the top will show will all of the storage is being used.

Thank you for the response. I checked what you suggested. It says the capacity is 64gb and 37 g used in iPhone storage. I don’t have my photos backed up to the iCloud as I used google photos for that. Currently I only have 251 pictures in “my album”.
Try backing up to a Mac if you have one available. See About backups for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204136
