Lost data on macbook

i changed name of only user in macbook. in process mac asked to restart. after it turned on i normally got into user with password. after entering everything on desktop disappeared and works very slowly(i cant open anything, except system preferences). does not opens advanced options in user & groups and yes i unlocked it before i tried to use it. please someone help
