There is a good chance that you have accidentally disabled notifications from your Apple Watch app. So go to Watch app on your iPhone > Notifications > Messages. Here, you can check that you have ticked Allow Notifications.
If everything is good, you can just restart your Apple Watch. In the final resort, you can unpair and pair your Apple Watch with the connected iPhone.
