my side bar on my iPhotos has disappeared. none of the suggested helps, help

What have you already tried? Are your using iPhoto to Photos? This is not clear from your question about "iPhotos", sorry.
In Photos on macOS 10.14 the sidebar should always be visible automatically, unless the Photos window is tooo small. Then try to drag the resize corners to make the window larger or increase the screen resolution in the System preferences > Display.
If you are in Full Screen Mode, you should enable the option in the View Menu: View > Always show sidebar and Toolbar in Full Screen Mode.
