Default mail option, not able to change, no default account option

I am not able to change my default mail account. When I go into settings>mail> there is no option for default account. I’ve tried deleting the app and reinstalling and it doesn’t work. Any suggestions?

First, the option to setup Default Account is available only when you have more than one email account enabled on your device.

Second, the Default Account option apply only to messages created outside of Mail app; for instance, when in other app like Safari, Notes, Photos you tap on Share menu and choose from it to share data via Mail.

Default Account option might not be available on device with enabled restrictions, or device managed via MDM, configuration profile or when Exchange Email is in use.
