My apple Id when trying to change the messenger update is wrong.. how do I deletethat ID that i no longer use. i have a new apple ID

the Apple ID That comes up to update messenger is wrong. I have a new Apple ID. How do I delete the old Apple ID on my iPad and in the one messenger comes up with. Thank you in advance for your support.

A request for another Apple ID password is often caused by updates to apps/purchases that were made when using the other ID. Those purchases are tied to the other ID and can't be transferred. One option is to delete the apps/purchases made by the other ID and download them using the new ID if desired. If necessary, check your purchases history to see which apps/purchases weren’t made by the current ID.

See how to Delete your Apple ID Account https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT208504 This document says, in effect, that "deleting your Apple ID [ eventually] is permanent. But, I found this authoritative statement elsewhere (can't remember exactly where): 

 

 "If you deleted your Apple ID by requesting deletion through the Apple website and it has been over seven days then there is no way for you to restore it. it was in the terms and conditions you agreed to before deleting it. If however it was deleted in the past few days- you can restore it by providing Apple Support with the recovery key you were prompted to save."
