How to add microsoft outlook email to macbook

Microsoft Outlook is a mail client. Purchase or subscribe to Microsoft Office, and you’ll have it.

Microsoft Outlook.com is also an email provider, semi-confusingly...

Microsoft has available the Outlook.com email settings.

Apple has available info on adding mail accounts to the macOS mail client.

You’ll be using the other path.

you can move over all your Mail.app mailboxes to Outlook with a very slick little program "Mail Exporter Pro". You can download a trial version at http://mailexporterpro.com/try-mail-exporter-pro.html.

As I was initially puzzled, that tool exports the mail store from Apple Mail to the Outlook Mail client and its mail store, and seemingly not from the Apple mail client mail store to the Outlook.com mail service.
