Pause, forward and backward don't work for Apple Music

I recently upgraded to Catalina, and have found that while listening music, I can't pause a song with the play/pause button on the keyboard, nor can I skip to the next song or go back using the arrow keys (F7, F8 & F9). This has always worked in the past. I looked up keyboard controls and shortcuts in system preferences, and don't see anything there to make this work as it should. Suggestions?

I kind of thought I should have restarted the computer before I posted this. Now it works as usual. Technology.
