buying an iphone in Spain

Hello there, I want to buy an iPhone in Spain and I have a UK Sim card with no contract. Will my Spanish iPhone work in the UK?

It will work if its unlocked. If its locked to a Spanish Carrier, then it will only work with that carrier.
