Lost excel file

After updating an excel file in the iCloud drive could not locate it. Is there any way the activity logs for the file could be seen?

Greetings VaikunthaLakshmi,

Thanks for visiting the Apple Support Communities! I understand you're missing a file from iCloud Drive, and you're curious if activity logs for the file are available.

Activity logs for the file aren't available. I suggest verifying if the file is viewable when visiting iCloud.com, and checking the Recently Deleted folder: Access iCloud Drive files from your iPhone and other devices - Apple Support

"Where to find missing files

When you turn on iCloud Drive, any documents that you already store in iCloud automatically move to iCloud Drive. You can see your files on iCloud.com, in the Files app on iOS 11 and later, in the Pages, Numbers, and Keynote apps, or in the iCloud Drive app on iOS 10 and iOS 9.

If you don’t see your files in any of those locations, set up iCloud Drive on all of your devices.

If you need to access a file that you deleted within the last 30 days, you can get it back from the Recently Deleted folder in the Files app, or on iCloud.com."

Additionally, check out how to recover deleted files from the following article: Recover deleted files on iCloud.com - Apple Support

"Recover files deleted from other apps

You can restore files you deleted from other apps, such as iWork apps, in the last 30 days, whether you deleted them on iCloud.com or your iOS device, iPadOS device, Mac, or Windows computer.

  1. In Settings on iCloud.com, click Restore Files (in the Advanced section).
  2. Select each file you want to restore, or select Select All.
  3. Click Restore.

Look for your recovered files in the folders they were in when you deleted them. For example, if a file was in the Pages folder when you deleted it, look for the recovered file in the Pages folder."

Cheers.
