Put your iPhone in a Lifpruf or Otterbox defender type case that also includes a screen cover and then use alcohol based wipes on that. Do not use them on the iPhone itself. Or just wash your hands frequently and don't hand your iPhone to strangers.

For starters, if any cleaning product gets inside the phone, it's kaputt and the warranty void: liquid damage is not covered. And cleaning products, by their very nature, are much more penetrating than plain water, so can overcome the water resistance in the newer phones.

That in mind, I'd put mine in an appropriate shell so I can happily scrub away on the outside without having to worry about killing the phone.

Oh, yes. Mine own i8+ sits from Day One in a Griffin Survivor Extreme. You just beat me to the punch in this thread cause a) I got distracted or b) you've flaming fingers...
