Watch burning arm

Hi, I have owned my Apple Watch for nearly two years. Recently I felt a burn on my arm when wearing my watch and when I’ve taken it off it is red and oozing. When googling it suggests I may be allergic but only reacting after 2 years doesn’t seem right? I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced similar problems or knows action I should take? The picture is two days after stopping wearing the watch. It was more oozing and aggressive when I first took it off

Consult a doctor, preferably a dermatologist that can examine and diagnose skin allergies. It is possible that you have become sensitive to the watch, but the dermatologist would need to determine that. Let me ask you something. Are you subject to washing your hands a great deal? If so, my daughter-in-law also works in child care. Last year she experienced something similar, just not with an Apple Watch. After examination, it had to do with the combination of her hand washing and then the use of hand sanitizer and hand lotion. That caused a skin reaction with her jewelry on her hands. So that might also be a source, so share that with your physician.

Sure it does. Allergies can develop at any stage of life and can do so suddenly.

I developed a sudden allergy to shellfish in my 50's. No warning. I ate seafood at least once every week or two for pretty much my entire adult life. No problems. One day I broke out in hives and my throat started closing up after dinner. Not fun.

No more shrimp for me.
