receiving phone calls saying they are Apple

Received FIVE calls on my home # and one on my cell saying Apple - and actually the ID shows Apple, Inc. and phone # on 3 of them, the other #'s were 1800 #'s. They were saying my iCloud was breached, etc. One of them said something and I said 'well you called me' and they said your cloud breached, etc. and I said 'WELL' and they hung up. Just wondering if any others get the calls showing as Apple Inc. and is there somewhere we can report that. I'm going to block the #'s on my home and cell phone.

Apple does not make such calls.

All such calls are scams from criminals attempting to steal your personal and financial information. The callers will often use number spoofing to pretend they are calling from a legitimate business. The correct course of action is to hang up on them, repeatedly if needed.

It is absolutely a scam. You were right to hang up.

Unfortunately it is trivially easy to spoof caller ID, so the scammer can make their number appear as anyone they wish. The telecom industry hasn't taken any active measures to prevent this abuse.

Apple will never call you about a breach to your iCloud account.

There really isn't much you can do about it, though, other than be aware, and spread the word so that others might not get caught. Reporting it to Apple won't help much because there is nothing they can do to trace back the call after the fact. It's in the hands of the phone company.

I actually called Apple and spoke with someone and she verified - so I am fine now, just annoyed at the audacity of these people. As they say 'better to be safe than sorry' and that's why I called. LOL when she said she would send something to my email - I said fine and she was 'checking' me and I was 'checking' her, we both laughed.
