I’ve got an old iPhone SE that has to be unlocked and I’ve forgotten the 6 digit passcode.

The first method is the typical way Apple wants you to use, which might limit some users because you need to have your Apple ID password. The second, method is a more ingenious solution since you don’t need your Apple ID, to unlock iPhone SE if forgotten the 6 digit passcode.
