use apple card at restaurant

Twice now, when I use my physical card to pay at a restaurant, I am given a no signature-required receipt and no place to add the tip. Fortunately, I had some cash on me or I guess I could have had him run it through again for the tip amount, but I need to know how to deal with this in the future.

Any thoughts?

Had to choose Apple Pay as a "topic" but this has to do with the physical Apple Card.
