Should only take 4-5 hours to charge, as long as you are not using that iPad while charging.

If you turn off WiFi and Bluetooth while charging, that iPad should charge in 3-4 hours.

I have an older iPad Pro and charge it on the Apple 12W power/chsrge block and with WiFi and Bluetooth toggled OFF, my iPad Pro from between 5-10% to 100% takes between 3-3-1/2 hours to fully charge and I am back up and running.

That appears to be just about right.

A newer Lightning cable may make a difference, maybe not.

You are using the 12W adapter.

Try turing off WiFi and Bluetooth while charging. See if that helps to speed up charging.

If you are not happy with the charging speed/interval of your new iPad, you can purchase Apple's USB-C 18 or 29 W power/charging adapters and Apple USB-C to Lightning cable.

Best of Luck to You!
