macOS Apple TV app leaves controls visible after pause

on the current version of the macOS Catalina 10.15.3 Apple TV app (1.0.3.1), when I pause the playback of a movie or TV episode in full-screen, the content pauses and the display shows the white control items (play, back-10, forward-10, close X, volume, time elapsed, time remaining, etc.). When I click play (or hit spacebar) the content starts but the controls remain on the screen, even if I move the mouse off the monitor. Only after moving the mouse back on and back off again do the controls disappear.

This seems like a bug. It may be difficult to reproduce if you're only using one monitor, so keep that in mind.
