Cannot sign into Apple TV

Hello, I have an Apple TV part number MD199LL/A. It won't let me sign into iTunes. I get the two factor authentication screen and it asks for my code, but after entering the 6 digit code it tells me "Could not sign in. Your apple ID or Password was entered incorrectly." I am 100% sure that's incorrect. I have entered it like 5 times and always it's the same.

I tried rebooting the Apple TV.

Apparently there is no way to disable two factor authentication.

The software on all my devices is up to date. OS 8.4.3 on the TV.

How to sign in? This is crazy.

When asked for your password, enter the password, *then* request a new verification code, and append that to the password, and then submit. (That way the code won’t expire before submitting, as the time for entering the password isn’t counted.)

Hi,


If you have a 3rd gen model then you need to enter the password and code together. Since there is a time limit you will need to enter the password, then manually request a code and add it to the password.
