MacBook Pro 16-inch terrible temperature and battery life

The computer overheats whenever the dedicated GPU is used no matter how large or little the load is, whenever any process uses it, the temperature will jump to over 75°C and the fans will run at 5600RPM (a lot of noise). Furthermore, battery life is pathetic when this happens (dropping from 6 hours of no-gpu use, to about 1 hour).

This is completely unacceptable, I've had this computer for a month and I'm very disappointed. I've had a 2015 MacBook Pro and only had these temperatures under (very) heavy loads.

Make an appointment at the Apple Genius Bar for service. If you need to find an Apple Store - Find a Store - Apple. Also, see How to find your nearest Apple Authorized Service Provider (AASP) or Distributor (AAD).
