Can not manage ringtones on Windows 10 iTunes

Can not manage ringtones on Windows 10 iTunes

When I plug my iPhone in, the On my device>Tones folder in Windows 10 iTunes 12.10.4.2 is empty even though I have ringtones on my actual iPhone! I can clearly see them on the phone but no matter what I do, they never show up in the tones folder! HELP!!

I know tones, books, and apps were taken out but I can still drag and drop books as they show up in the On my device>Books folder.

This issue is driving me insane as I can't find a fix no matter what I try. Please help as I have to manage my entire family's iPhones!

THANK YOU!!!! iFunBox did it! So sad we have to go to a non-apple product to make an apple product work again before apple broke it!!

...........now if I could only get the podcast app working again the way it did before they broke that!!!

Yeah it's crazy.... I used to dl and sync to my phone. It would play files in order. Now it always wants to stream from the internet, won't play files in order, etc. and I messed around with the settings a lot, made playlists, etc. and it just won't work.

Thanks again for the help with the ringtone issue as that has been driving me nuts for quite a while!!! :)

I'm afraid I don't have any insights on the podcast app. I get Siri to play new episodes of the shows I like and ignore the interface almost completely.

Hello Depechian,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities, and I understand the Tones folder is empty on iTunes and will do what I can to help.

Here are some suggestions:

Restart your computer.
Try importing one of the same ringtones again to see if it duplicates.
Uninstall and reinstall iTunes: Remove and reinstall iTunes and related software components for Windows 7 and later

It did not duplicate! So I deleted the one I added. I thought it would remove the one on my phone as well but it did not.

I am a little nervous about uninstalling because I do not want to lose anything.... are you absolutely sure this is the solution to be able to see the tones that are actually on my device?

Read the article. There is a section on removing hidden tones from the device. Reinstalling iTunes is unlikely to help, although if done properly there should be no risk to the library. Of course you should have have a backup of that regardless.

I know how to do that.... and that is not my problem. It's that the ones on my phone no longer show up when I connect top iTunes as described on my question.
