iPhone screen and buttons unresponsive

My iPhone xr screen and the side buttons have become totally unresponsive today.... i cannot do anything with it.

Phone calls are coming through as are emails etc but I cannot do anything with the screen or buttons. The Face ID will unlock the phone when a call or email comes through but I cannot then slide up or anything.

Has anyone had this problem?? Is it fixable? It was working one second while on instagram and then not the next.

I cant do a reset and switch off as the side buttons aren’t doing anything!!!!

im currently waiting for my battery to die to see if when I recharge it it will help somehow.

Any help and advice would be great!!!
