How to get Fan view in dock

Hi. I'm wondering how to restore the Fan view on my applications in my dock. When I right-click, there is not option to change this view. Currently I have to right-click to see any open word documents, internet windows, etc.

(running Catalina)

Accidentally removed 'Recents' from Dock Hi all! I just somehow accidentally removed my 'Recents' from the right side of my Dock. Now, I was able to get it back through a Finder window by right-clicking the 'Recents' folder and selecting 'Add to Dock', but now I am no longer able to drag files from the fan that opens once I click the 'Recents' icon. Can anybody help me get this functionality back? Thanks!

download file on dock I lost my download file on my dock. I went to finder, found the download file, dragged and dropped it to the dock. Then I wanted to set is as a fan view, but when I right clicked on new download file in the dock, I do not get fan options. Instead a right click only produces two options: Open downloads or Options>. I hoped to find the fan option by clicking Options>, but the only choices I the had were Remove from Deck, Open at Login, or Show in Finder. How can I get the fan view back? [Operating system is macOS Monterey, version 12.6.5] AnnG

dock changes in catalina Somewhere along the line, a function/app was added to my iMac dock that, when clicked, swiped the desktop right and produced a new screen, where apps like a dictionary, weather report, flight status, stock report, etc. could be placed for quick reference. With Catalina, this app has disappeared. Can I still get it (and does anyone remember the name)?

Follow up -

With a trackpad you can put the cursor on top of the app icon in the dock and then swipe down with three fingers (if with four doesn't work).

Not sure how/if this works with a mouse.

Hello, kad18.

The macOS Dock fan view does't work on applications.

But it works great on folders that are in the dock.
