For what it 's worth, we see many posts here from people who bought through non-Apple sources to save a few bucks and ended up with almost unusable devices. All Apple products are in high demand; that attracts some unscrupulous vendors.
I fully agree with the others--if you need to save money, buy a refurb directly from Apple online. You get a full warranty, eligibility for AppleCare, and a good night's sleep.

I just had a quick look on Amazon.com and all the Macs and iPhones I saw are 'renewed', i.e. refurbished second-hand: Amazon say 'These pre-owned products are not Apple certified but have been inspected and tested by Amazon-qualified suppliers.' So these are cheaper because they're used, like Apple's refurbished list. They may well be perfectly OK but they are not Apple-authorised.
On the other hand Amazon.co.uk does have some new Macs and iPhones (some sold by third-party sellers). I didn't compare the prices - some of them are older models.
It's almost a given that the manufacturer's price is higher than what you can find just about anything for at a retail store or online.
Don't ask me why, but it's been like this for decades. Only one or twice in the past 30 years or more have I gotten something direct from the manufacturer for less than I could elsewhere.

Agree. But not all sellers on Amazon are Amazon itself. Easy for a noob to get the wrong vendor.
Indeed.
FWIW, I cannot find an iPhone 11 sold by any other vendor than Apple
There is ONE 11 PRO search result that is discounted all of $13 😁
Comparing iPhone 11 pro 6.5" display space gray
the same price = $999

We are all other users here and do not work for Apple or Amazon - you need to ask them.
For the same reason you can see Target and Best Buy sometimes selling items for below Apple’s price. As authorized resellers they can do that.
