iPhone XR lock screen background won’t show up

I just recently purchased the XR and this has happened a few times and I don’t know got to fix it but I have a wallpaper set for my lock screen but when I lock my phone the wallpaper is not there. I even tried to change the wallpaper and still nothing. Why is my phone doing this?

I can’t edit/change my wallpaper from the lock screen I have been using the phone for 7 months and I could do it before. When I tried to do it today, it didn't work. maybe I turned off something in the settings, but I don't know what.
