Recently purchased xs max and i use the original charger and cable which comes with the box
i have 6s plus too with its own respective charger and cable
while charging the phones with its respective chargers
i find my new xs max charger adapter gets more hot than the 6s plus charger while charging the respective phones
Please clarify is it normal?
pls share some insights on this particular topic

Warm/very warm be okay... it's hot/burning hot, I'd not trust it and get a replacement. If new, surely Apple should replace the charger if it's getting hot.
Granted the $9 and under chargers are junk. But I've seen an Apple 18w charger disassembled and around $18 Rav i think it was, and really the Rav looked just as dependable, good components... ones milage will vary of course with any decent charger no matter who makes it. Of course with a phone still under warranty I'd go with an official charger.

I don’t find any problem with the phone even while charging
its just that the adapter gets hot not the phone
compared to the old adapter which charges the old iphone
The reality is, the chargers that come with iphones are not really any different from all the cheap 18w chargers on Amazon ... only difference is, it has Apple on it with a hefty price tag. They all get very warm to hot. It could be the chargers for the 6 series were built better.

Its a matter of concern when these happens with such costly high end phones
i spoke with Apple regarding this issue according them charger getting warm is ok
but not the burning hot

Be careful with the "cheap" chargers that are just as good, many of the really cheap ones are quite shoddy if you take them apart and they can damage your iPhone. If saving 20 bucks is worth it to you and you don't mind paying for an out-of-warranty replacement go for it.
Since i can place my hands on the adapter to feel the heat as long as i can so I think its in the very warm condition
btw i have the 3pin style charger which comes with the Dubai Variant
if it would have been hot or burning hot as u mentioned it won’t be possible to place the hands i guess

Check the charging port on the Xs Max for lint or other debris.
Otherwise, the adapters and charging cables for the two phones should be interchangeable.
