After Importing wav files into garageband, all tracks starting at the beginning not where they should...

I recorded audio files and midi files on protools in another studio, transposed them into wav files to be able to work on them from home in garageband.

When I select the wav's and drag them into new tracks they all start at the beginning and not where they should. Some should only start in the middle and towards the end, there are so many that I couldn't possibly guess where they go. I assumed they'd just be placed automatically as I originally recorded them!

Please can anyone help as the other recording studio was in NYC and now I'm in France freaking out!
