Why won't my iPhone brightness go up?

Hello guys,

this was happening to me in my XR and now it’s happening in my brand new 11 pro max same problem.

mit happen especially during playing PUBG mobile .. in my XR during playing I don’t know if it’s when the phone starts warming but it just reduce brightness automatically to 50% then if I try to bring it up back it doesn’t the option goes up in the CC but brightness don’t go more than 50%. And it’s going to stay like that for a while maybe till the phone warms goes back and it comeback normal, when I start playing pubg again after a while of playing it happen.

now it’s happening in my 11 pro max at same game same way, I want to know if this is an option and how I can manage it manually.

Hey Mehdi0,

I see that you're having trouble on two devices because the brightness goes down and you're unable to increase it past 50%. I'll be happy to help out.

Make sure that auto-brightness is turned off. You can turn this feature on or off in Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text Size. More information can be found here: Adjust the brightness on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support. Also make sure that the Low Light setting isn't enabled. Go to Accessibility > Zoom > Zoom Filter > Disable Low Light by making sure None is selected here.

Are you able to adjust the brightness setting now?

Hey Mehdi0,

Thanks for the additional information. When you acquired the iPhone 11 Pro Max, did you restore it from a backup made from the iPhone XR? If the issue is software related, then it may be contained in the backup. If that's the case, restoring the iPhone and setting it up as new would be a good option. You can do this on one device to test.

Make sure you have a good backup of your device: How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. When you are ready to restore and set up the iPhone as new, please follow this article: Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings.

If the brightness works as expected after setting up as new, go ahead and restore from the backup you created previously.

Cheers.

Hi Joseph, thank you for you’re help.

Unfortunately the both options you talk about are disabled.

the phone got back to normal now, the problem happen during playing .. after a while the brightness goes automatically to 50% and can’t go above.

i stop playing and leave the phone for a 30 minutes or so and it comeback normal.

this is happening only when I play .. in both iPhones!
