iPhone A1400 charger makes 7600 Hz noise

I have several iPhone chargers.

One of them makes a monotonous sound with a wavelength around 7600 Hz when I put in the 240V wall socket (regardless wether a cable or iPhone is connected). My children hear this "irritating" sound better than me, but wat about potential overheating?

Is it save to use?

The specs are:

Model: A 1400

Input: 100-240 V, 50-60 Hz

Output: 5V, 1 Ampere

All Apple (and all other quality USB power sources) have “switching” power supplies and will general a faint but sometimes audible sound. If it is loud enough to be annoying take it to an Apple store; there may be something loose inside that is vibrating.
