iPhone Virus Detection

While using safari on my IPhone there was a pop up that said there were viruses detected on my phone from visiting certain websites. Without thinking I clicked the link because it looked legit, I was redirected to the App Store but did not download the app. Is it possible I have a virus by clicking the link to the App Store? Also I have pop ups blocked so is there a reason why I still received a pop up? Thank you!!

Unless your iPhone has been jailbroken, then it is not a virus. Even with popups blocked, you can receive these. They are java scripts from the website you were on. Close Safari, then go to Settings>Safari>Clear History and Website Data. Then start Safari again and you should be fine.
