Does anybody know anything about making Ekoru your default search engine? I think it’s a great idea and would like to support it but wondering if there is a way round Apples defaults? I would like to choose my own search engine.

Unfortunately, there are only default search engines on an iPhone Safari (e.g. Google, Yahoo, Bing, DuckDuckGo) and you cannot add another.
Its sad. I also use search engines that is also environment friendly. Mine is called Ecosia. But I'am using that only on my computer.
Edit: You can see for yourself (the default search engines) on settings > safari > search engine
Here’s a workaround: Go to the search engine site in Safari. Click on the Share icon (box with an up arrow). Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen. Now when you want to search tap that icon on your Home screen instead of the browser icon.
Log some feedback with Apple, if the search engine you’re interested in is not already listed among the choices.
Thank you Patricia. I was hoping that wouldn’t be the answer. It would be interesting to understand why apple would not have environment friendly options on their products.

I use the favorites bar for similar purposes. You can tap those favorite links from any page, not just the home.
