Time machine not configured

I accidentally deleted the Backup Disk for my Time Machine Backups by clicking Remove Disk.

I thoughtby using the Backup Disk on backup my wife’s mac, it would recognise it again. I backed up my wife's computer using the disk and TimeMachine.

Taking it back to mine the disk is still not recognised. There is no way I can force my computer to  recognise it.

I have done a Carbon Copy Cloner backup of my computer to the disk, but that is not what I want.  How to force my laptop to recognise the Backup Disk once more?  Screenshots follow -

Thank you leroydouglas for your answers. The option click does not work: Browse other Backup Disk ... leads me to a T M screen, not a Disk to record to...

Your second link led me to an interesting fact:

Important: You can back up from an HFS+ or APFS-formatted disk to an HFS+ disk; however, Time Machine can’t back up to an APFS-formatted disk. If you select a back up disk formatted as APFS, Time Machine offers to reformat it as HFS+.

How come the AFPS formatted disk works on my wife's computer and not on mine? Should I reformat back to HFS+? I was not aware of this at the time of "updating" the disk.
