iPhone trade in

If I trade in my current iPhone XR that I am Paying $20 a month on for an iPhone 11 that will go to $16 a month.... will I still have to pay on the XR or will that go away with trade in??

You would have to pay off your remaining balance on your iPhone XR before trading it.
