Receiving text messages late on iPhone

I know this is happening with group messages and I don’t know if it is happening with individual messages. But with the group messages I am getting them hours or days after people are sending them. And when I get them it’s 4-6 at a time. I restarted my phone by pushing the power button and volume up but that doesn’t seem to do anything to fix it.

It is my understanding that when using group messaging the messages you receive are delayed by hours or days later. The following article has some steps which may be helpful under the heading, "If you have issues with a group message":
