Hey erfan64,

Thanks for following up with us. When you open the App Store, there should be things like Discover, Arcade, Create, and further down you'll see Categories. Are you only missing Categories from there, or the whole list?

If you haven't already done so, close the App Store and then when re-opening hold down the Shift key. This ensures a clear restart, and may resolve issues like you're describing.

If you're still not seeing the Categories option, I recommend restarting in safe mode and testing this happens there as well. The link below can walk you through how restarting safe mode, and even what to do if the issue isn't present in safe mode.

Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac

Cheers!

Hey erfan64,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities! It looks like no one has responded to your question. Here are a couple things that might help others answer your question:

Which device are you using?

Are you referring to categories to help find an app, or categories to assign to an app as a developer?

Thanks again, and have a great day!

Logging in via safe mode, or creating a different user account, or singing out of iCloud and signing back in, or using ⌘3, none of these will solve this issue, at least not for me I have tried them all. I am beginning to think this is bug which apple either has forgot to fix, or does not care to fix any more for those who use older Macs. either way this is serious, because AppStore is no longer usable, I can't look for apps anymore. I can't purchase anything of interest any more. It's been really frustrating and my patience is running low. For now the only work around is to use Google to find apps for my Mac, or to use Macupdates, until this gets fixed.
