Did you actually click on the blue link that Joseph S. posted and schedule a callback. This is a user-to-user technical support site operated by Apple. Joseph S. is a specialist who stepped in and provided you with a helpful link. If you don't want to go that route you can call AppleCare and ask to be transferred to Customer Service.
At one point in your post you say you didn't know this could happen and don't want to wear it again, later you are wanting a free replacement then you moved onto a lawsuit. Before you talk to Apple you need to pick an option.
No, this is not from negligence during manufacturing this is what can happen when lithium polymer batteries age or short out. Apple doesn't even make the batteries. If this disturbs you then you should not buy another battery powered watch and you also need to get rid of your cell phones and laptop computers. If you do just a short search you will find examples of all of them doing the same thing. They usually become erratic prior to doing so (or if they are old they won't hold a charge) and most people get them service prior to that happening.
Thank you for participating in the Apple Support Communities.
I want to make sure you reach the right team for help with your Apple Watch. I recommend that you contact Apple Support directly. Depending on your region, you may be able to [ schedule a callback / reach them by phone or chat ] here: https://getsupport.apple.com
This is a volunteer forum.

So my wife did go to the emergency room to get checked out.. She was worried that maybe a chemical or acid might’ve affected her when the watch exploded like that. she did receive slight burns on her wrist and it did affect her skin. It caused a rash or a burn mark But to be clear we were both thinking it’s not that big of deal because she wasn’t driving when it happened and it could had been much worse. She was lucky. Now a few days later, we see your watch is a very dangerous piece of wearable tech and it’s no longer under warranty! So from what I see, it could had simple stopped working but it exploded splitting the glass all the way around the frame! So if we would’ve known that watch could’ve done something like that we wouldn’t had bought it.
It happened at work in front of her coworkers and everybody saw what happened.... I was hoping that you would be concerned and be willing to make things right again especially since we have always been Apple consumers I think you should replace the watch or have it repaired, something.....It’s been a few days with no call as promised or contact until now, so since you don’t seem to care about what happened to us I’m seriously considering talking to an attorney about it, because other people need to know what could happen with your wearable tech. Children and older people wear these watches and I have been researching as it turns out this is not the first time this is happened. I suspect negligence during manufacturing.
You are very welcome, personally I don't like the call back route due to the vagaries of computers, phone systems, etc. If you are going the lawsuit route I hope you have a lot of money and an extremely good law firm because every company that uses lithium polymer batteries will sign on as a friend of the court. You could go with a Samsung but you might want to do a search for Samsung Galaxy Note 7 before you do.
Personally I'd buy her an Omega.
Yes I did have a call back scheduled and no they never called. But hey thanks for being so rude. I’ve made up my mind what I will do.
