Apple Store return

hello everybody. New to the group so I am hoping to get an answer to my question. I bought the new iPhone 11 Pro Max on March 2nd. There was a very loud rattling sound inside of the phone and since it was under 14 days I went to the Apple store expecting for an easy exchange and they kind of gave me a problem about it but I explained to them that I paid for the phone I’m full(unlocked) and it’s only one week old. Long story short they did come out with another device that was inside of a sealed box just like the original purchase. Sounds silly but the box has some small dings and dust particles under the plastic. Please forgive my OCD. But like I said, it was in a sealed box just like the first phone. I understand that refurbished Apple products are wonderful but my question is, Did Apple replace my phone with a brand new iPhone 11 Pro Max or did they give me a certified or refurbished phone? I could be answering my own question considering it came in a new box but I’d like to see if anyone knows something I don’t. Thanks 🙏

Thanks for your input and help. It was just questionable when the box looked banged up a bit with lots of dust under the plastic. I have heard countless stories of people getting replacement phones instead of getting a retail device. The phone is working properly so I am OK with it either way! Thanks again.
