Apple Pencil: A Tip for the Tip

I recently had to replace my Apple Pencil (original type). Floating around in my backpack, the tip gradually unscrewed from the Pencil body and then the underlying metal got damaged.

Other than getting a better case for it, I have a “tip for the tip”: After screwing the tip on tightly, of course, I lightly painted over the joint between the tip and the pencil body with clear nail polish! In a side-by-side comparison, with and without, it required, I’d estimate, around 3-4 times the torque to unscrew the tip with the nail polish than the unprotected one. It’s also barely visible.

I’m open to other suggestions along these lines, but just wanted to pass along that “tip for the tip.”

The cautionary advice provided by QuickPost is good advice. The Apple Pencil tip is “active” in that it directly senses pressure applied to the plastic tip.

Anything that interferes with the mechanical interface between the body and tip of the pencil will affect the pressure sensor. Applying [what is, in effect] an adhesive between the body and tip will have adverse effect. You should also consider that you will instantly void any warranty on your Pencil.
